our culinary concepts

LOWFOOD events are where ideas meet flavour. From in-depth conversations with leading culinary thinkers to open, playful encounters with the wider public. Our events connect gastronomy, culture and the food system — always grounded in taste, craft and curiosity.

Symposium

For years, the LOWFOOD Symposium has been a meeting place for some of the most forward-thinking culinary minds in the world. From chefs and writers to activists and cultural innovators all exploring what gastronomy can mean in times of ecological and social change.

Past editions featured voices such as Claus Meyer (Founder of the Nordic Food Movement), Chris Ying (food media pioneer, co-founder of Lucky Peach), Fatmata Binta (Basque Culinary World Prize) and Angela Dimayuga (chef & cultural food leader).

Festival

The LOWFOOD Festival is where Amsterdam gets a taste of what’s next in the kitchen.

A low-threshold, flavour-driven celebration of food culture — playful, creative and accessible. From curious home cooks to seasoned food lovers, from kids to professionals: the festival offers inspiration for all ages, showing how new ideas in food can be experienced, shared and enjoyed together.
